COVID Update

Dear TSD families,
We have received information regarding a middle school student who has tested positive for COVID19. Along with the DOH, we are working through the contact tracing process. The families of any students who may have had close contact have been contacted directly and those students will be excluded from school for the appropriate time period.
Thank you. Be well.

Franklin County in "substantial" community transmission range

TSD is monitoring this situation. The Pennsylvania Department of Education recommends full remote learning if counties stay in the "substantial" range for more than one week. We receive updated numbers on Fridays and Mondays. All decisions about the type of instruction are made locally. At this time, we are continuing our safety protocols and are planning to continue "in person" instruction as approved in our recently updated Health and Safety Plan. Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support.
Be well,
Mr. Benedick

Bus 29 Students will be remote tomorrow, Thursday October 22

Dear TSD Families,

Out of an abundance of caution, we are keeping secondary students who ride Bus 29 home tomorrow, Thursday October 22, 2020.  An individual on that bus has tested positive for COVID and students may or may not have had close contact with that individual on Monday or Tuesday of this week.  We are working with the Department of Health to provide a bus roster which will assist in their contact tracing process as they do with any positive COVID case.  However, because of the late hour, they will not be contact tracing until tomorrow.

We will interact directly with those Bus 29 students and families as we work through this situation.

Thank you,
Mr. Benedick

Special Education Compliance Monitoring

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education (BSE), monitors all school districts
and charter schools in the state at least once every six years to ensure that they are complying with federal
and state regulations for special education. As a part of this process, we are asking parents of students who receive special education services to complete a survey. The link is included in this letter under the Special Education tab on our website.

Thank you for your participation. Contact us with questions.
