This school year, a focus for the entire Tuscarora School District is Attendance. Did you know that if your child misses 2 or more days every month, this equates to 18+ days in a school year of 180 days? When a student misses over 10% of a school year, this is defined as "chronic absenteeism."
In the Elementary Schools, across the district, we will celebrate different attendance goals each month. What this will look like: One class K-2 and one class 3-5 who have met or exceeded the attendance target for that month, will earn an extra recess to play with the "attendance wagon."

November: Class with the best overall attendance
December: Class with the fewest unexcused tardies
January: Class with the most improved attendance
February: Class with the best overall attendance
March: Class with the fewest unexcused tardies
April: Class with the most improved attendance
May: Class with the best overall attendance
**Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.
